Electric scooters are now a common sight in Delhi NCR. Many owners will look for a local workshop once the free services end. A petrol workshop can prepare step by step.
Start with what you already know
Brakes, tyres, suspension, body work, lights and wiring are the same skills. Many EV jobs are exactly this work.
Learn the basics of the battery and charger
- Train at least one technician on safe handling of the battery and charger.
- Keep an insulated tool set and gloves for EV work only.
- Never open a battery pack unless trained and allowed by the maker.
Keep a record for every EV
Note the battery health or range the customer reports at each visit. Over time this helps you tell the customer when the battery is getting weak.
Charging can be extra income
If you have space and a proper electrical connection, a charging point brings riders to your workshop while they wait.
Talk about it
Put "EV service" on your board, your Google listing and your WhatsApp status. Customers do not know you service EVs unless you say so.
