Cold mornings in Srinagar and the higher areas are hard on vehicles. A pre-winter check prevents most breakdowns — and is a good reason to call your customers in before the cold sets in.
Battery first
Weak batteries fail on the first cold morning. Test every battery and tell the customer honestly if it will not last the winter.
Coolant and engine oil
Check coolant strength in cars and liquid-cooled bikes. Use the oil grade the maker recommends for cold weather.
Tyres and brakes
Worn tyres are dangerous on wet and icy roads. Check tread and brake condition on every vehicle.
Lights and wipers
Short days mean more riding in the dark. Check all lights and wiper blades.
A winter package
Offer a fixed-price "winter check" that covers all of the above. Send a reminder to your customers a few weeks before winter.
