Quality check before delivery: a two-minute checklist

Two minutes before handing over the keys can save a complaint, a comeback and a bad review.
The checklist
- Every complaint on the job card has a correction written.
- Brakes work and are adjusted.
- Lights, horn and indicators work.
- No tools or rags left on the vehicle.
- Nuts and bolts on the parts you touched are tight.
- Short test ride done.
- Vehicle washed and clean where the customer sits.
Who does it
Someone other than the technician who did the work — a supervisor or senior technician.
Record it
Note who did the check. When something goes wrong, you know where to look.
